Margaret arrived in American on "The George" in 1617. She was 36in the 1624-25 "Muster of Robert Partin at west and Shirley Hundred."

She was charged July 3, 1627 with concealing the offense of Thomas Hayle (rape of four young maidens for which he was executed) and given 40 lashes in James Cittye (Minutes of the Court, Volume 28, page 100). Hayle, a servant of the Partins, was 20 when arrived on the "George" in 1623. Some have conjectured Hayle may have been Margaret's brother, hence her reluctance to testify against him. No prove of this has been discovered.

"June 4, 1626: Thomas Hayle, age 21 years, was indicted and arrained upon the several inditements for the rape and ravishment of four maiden children, for which offence he was found guilty by the judge and had judgement of death pronounced against him according to lawÉ" (Minutes of Council and General Court, 1622-1629, Vo. 25, page 343).

Another servant, Ellen Cook, age 25, arrived in 1620 on a ship named "The London Merchant."
